Do you have an amazing acne skin care routine but could possibly be a little more diligent with using sunscreen?
I used to be in the same boat. I loathed sunscreen. I didn't use SPF for the longest time because I believed it was highly toxic and bad for my health (which many brands are).
Others have told me that they don't like the smell, consistency, or the white cast that SPF leaves on their skin.
Whatever your reason may be, lets challenge it by finding you the perfect sunscreen!
BUT FIRST, LET'S DISCUSS WHY SPF IS SO IMPORTANT!
👉 The sun can damage and sensitize your skin, making it harder for your acne to heal
👉 Wearing a high-quality SPF will help keep the skin protected so it can heal
👉 A broad spectrum sunscreen protects against Aging (UVA rays) and Burning (UVB rays)
The two different types of sunscreen
Mineral/Physical:
Works by reflecting UVA rays
Provides average protection
Usually a thick consistency
Typically leaves a white cast if not tinted
Usually considered safe/non-toxic
Chemical:
Works by absorbing UV rays and converting them into heat
Provides better protection than mineral/physical SPF
Typically has a thin consistency that absorbs easily
Some brands are not considered safe and can contain hormone disrupting chemicals
