Why It’s Important to Understand These 4 Tasks the Liver Does

Your liver is an amazing organ, seriously. It has over 500 jobs that it is doing simultaneously throughout the day, every single day and night. That means your liver can get backed up easily or carry the burden with unnecessary extra tasks. When we start to remove tasks from its plate, then it can work more efficiently, improving your liver’s health.

One task your super-star liver does is cleanse and purify your blood. Essentially, it is removing toxins from your blood all day throughout the day.

It is also responsible for metabolizing any drugs or medications you may be taking, including alcohol and caffeine.

Your liver metabolizes all of these and then removes them from your body.

What’s more, it helps synthesize proteins and helps with the absorption of making nutrients more absorbable by the body.

Familiarizing yourself with your liver’s major tasks will help you understand what happens when your liver gets backed up. Why?

Because, ultimately, your liver’s health is an essential key to your acne-prone skin.

What Exactly Happens When Your Liver Is Sluggish

Now that you have a better appreciation of all the many jobs your liver does, let’s talk about what is happening when your liver is struggling.

Your liver just can’t do it all when there are extra toxins that are in line to be metabolized for removal.

Consequently, the toxins go back into circulation.

The same goes for excess hormones. Your liver will package estrogen, for example, so it can be removed through your bowels. However, if that isn't working properly, then it can just go back into circulation causing hormonal imbalances, which can lead to acne.

That is why it is so important that you absolutely love on your liver.

How to Love Your Liver for Healthier Skin

Try saying love your liver three times fast. A bit tricky?

That is how treating your liver with love is actually going to feel: quite overwhelmingly tricky.

This is why I’m going to break it down into manageable chunks because the first step to changing habits is believing that you can do it!

Loving your liver means avoiding toxins in your food, cleaning products, skin care, and in your environment, as much as possible.

Obviously, we're always going to be exposed to toxins, and even our body makes some that our liver has to deal with, so some of them are natural.

Regardless, if we can remove some of these toxins from our daily life, then you help give your liver less work.

Thus, improving your liver’s health and your acne-prone skin.
